I’m Stu, and I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil. That love hasn’t changed—it’s just gotten deeper, turning into something that matters: creating portraits that feel real, personal, and worth keeping forever.
Art has always been home.
Drawing isn’t something I do—it’s something I am. From childhood, it’s been the constant. And over time, it became something more: a way to create portraits that genuinely mean something to the people who receive them.
What I love most is taking a photo that’s already loaded with emotion, memory, or personality, and turning it into something you can live with. Whether it’s a person you love, a pet that’s part of your family, or even multiple photos woven into one piece—there’s always a story in there, and that’s what I chase.
Everything I make is entirely by hand. Graphite, coloured pencil, oil paint—I choose quality materials because these pieces deserve to look beautiful and hold up over time. I don’t rush. I never mass-produce. Every portrait gets the time and care it needs to feel right, not just look right.
I’m based in Suffolk, UK. I take commissions from anywhere in the UK, and if you’ve got an idea in mind, I’m always up for a chat. No high-pressure sales pitch—just a genuine conversation about what you’re imagining.
